Henry Chakava is a Kenyan publisher. He has focused on the publication of books particularly in East Africa and has been called "the father of Kenyan publishing".
About Henry
Henry Chakava is the Chairman of East African Educational Publishers Ltd., and is a pioneer publisher in Africa. A recipient of several awards, Chakava has published and promoted some of the leading African writers and has enormously continued in the growth of the education sector in Africa. He is the author of Publishing in Africa: A one Man’s Perspective.
My dalliance with African languages is as old as my publishing career... which started when I joined Heinemann Nairobi in 1972 as editor.
